What this week's report says
CautionPositioning is stretched: leveraged funds are more net short than in 96% of the past 3 years. Crowded shorts raise squeeze risk — a caution flag, not a buy signal on its own.
Leveraged funds cut 2,382 long contracts and added 3,224 short contracts in Canadian Dollar this week — a net bearish shift of −5,606 contracts. They remain net short overall.
Leveraged funds and asset managers moved in opposite directions this week — speculative and institutional flows disagree on Canadian Dollar.
Open interest fell while positioning shifted — traders are closing exposure rather than adding, which weakens the signal.
